'Smoke Signal' is about the subjective and malleable nature of the truth. 'Smoke Signal' focuses on a reporter, James Sterling, as he interviews people in a small town the day after the original Orsen Welles 'War of the Worlds' broadcast. Throughout his interviews, James learns that the truths they tell, and the truth he has to report on, may be fabrications that reveal more about society's fears than they do about the broadcast that, in the end, don't always align.
